I was born in London, England in 1949.
My Father was a shopkeeper and my Mother worked in the local hospitals doing charity work for elderly people.
Both my parents encouraged me to learn the piano from the age of 8 years old, and then guitar from 11 years old. I was singing and playing guitar professionally in UK venues by the age of 14 years old.
My Dad used to drive my brother and I to gigs, helping us in with our gear and then wait around until we had finished the gig and drive us back home again, until I was 17 years and old enough to drive myself.
